Just like all other animals and humans, ferrets too are subject to abandonment and abuse. This is a growing trend not only in the United States alone, but is something that is being experienced the world over. Although ferret shelter owners are growing in numbers, the resources that are essential to maintain and feed ferrets are scarce. Most ferret shelter owners work tirelessly so that they gain the required financial help, an extra hand, time and other resources that would make shelters safe for ferrets to eat, sleep and play in and most importantly provide medical attention, love and a permanent home if that is possible.
