The field of therapeutic massage contains many different types and categories of massage treatments. There is Sports Massage Therapy. It focuses on the needs of specific athletes. There is Swedish or Classic Massage often found in spa parlors. These are the progenitors of many of the types of Western Massage Therapy today. Amidst Traditional Eastern or Asian Massage Therapies, you have Acupressure, Shiatsu, Tui Na, An Mo and Jin Sho Do. There is also Reiki, Reflexology and Aromatherapy Massage. Yet, among the least traditional forms of massage therapy, is massage therapy for small animals.
