Last week, my mother gave my son Eric a hamster for his 6th birthday. I kind of looked at the thing with disgust, I must say. But as the days went by, that furry little thing won my heart. Now, it is no longer a “thing” for me; now it has a name: Hanky. Hanky is quite a pal. He gets pretty scared when I vacuum my son’s room. I take him out -in his cage, of course- to the yard. I guess he must enjoy the sun.
